School Board Salaries

It is a travesty for a School Board to vote themselves a pay higher than the average starting salary for a teacher. This kind of selfish act is the reason why our teachers' needs continue to go ignored. We must value education and value the selfless individuals that are responsible for that education. Teachers deserve to make a living wage and until that becomes reality, School Board officials should be ashamed of themselves for voting to increase their own salaries. Why don't we raise the salary of first-year teachers first, then look at the School Board? It is time that we prioritize education and ensure that our professional educators are compensated fairly considering their education and experience.
